🟪Tech Power Breakfast - Smart Tech Safety: Security in the Age of Connectivity

Wednesday, May 14, 2025 (8:00 AM - 9:30 AM) (EDT)

Description

Jon-Luke West will introduce smart tech ecosystems, explaining what truly makes a device "smart" and how they communicate through various protocols like Z-Wave, Zigbee, and Wi-Fi. You'll gain practical insights into how smart spaces can enhance decision-making and efficiency while understanding the crucial difference between cloud and edge computing in your tech strategy for home and business.

Patrick Hynds will dive into the reality of cybersecurity threats in the IoT space, presenting a clear framework for understanding how to minimize digital vulnerabilities through the lens of his pyramid of threats. Through real-world security breach examples you'll learn how to minimize your risk by correctly configuring everything from your home or business Wi-Fi network to the devices in your smart home ecosystem.
